We are a congregation of the Evangelical Church in America, located in the Florida Bahamas synod. Together we boldly share Christ, passionately make disciples and faithfully do justice.
We meet on Sundays at 9:00 AM for a traditional worship service, followed by a coffee hour. Our preaching is biblical, relevant and engaging. We celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday. We practice open communion. All baptized Christians are invited to participate.
OUTREACH PROGRAMS
HOPE (Hospitality and Outreach for People Everywhere)
This group of women identify, learn about, and support many projects each year, using Thrivent Action grants and congregational donations. We are learning about the needs in our community, and responding by sharing God’s grace and blessings. Examples of the community partners we support are:
- Veterans
- Laundry Ministry
- Senior Day Care Center
- Alpha Omega (women’s care facility)
- Fred Wild School
- Synod Assembly Ingathering
- Sunny Hill Nursing Home
- New Testament Mission
- Faith Lutheran (Thanksgiving Baskets)
- Food Pantries
BUILDING BRIDGES
Atonement is one of four congregations crossing cultural and denominational divides to
learn from and share resources with each other. Special projects have included:
- Spanish/English classes
- Thanksgiving meals to those in need
- Potluck meals – building relationships
- Cohort of churches and agencies to address the growing need for food in our community
- Prayer/worship partners
- Food Pantries
DRUM CIRCLE
We invite anyone in the community to join us for our drum circles. They are announced on our Facebook page and typically take place on the circle in downtown Sebring.
LABYRINTH Atonement’s labyrinth is available for all to walk, to pray, to slow down, to listen for God,
to sort out your own thoughts. Watch for new construction coming in the summer of
2026.
